The farm was established in 2010 by Kurt Lardie. After completing MSU’s Organic Farmer Training Program, Kurt saw the opportunity to put organic principles into practice by starting a farm that provides area families with nutritious and flavorful vegetables. Fresh Start Farm does not use synthetics or GMOs that are found in most commercial farming.
By using cover crops, heirloom seeds, and crop rotation, there is no need for such dangerous chemicals. We’re a local, sustainable farm that follows the National Organic Practice Standards. We are not certified only because we do not pay the government for the certificate.

Fresh Start produce is available through custom orders, farmer’s market, or CSA shares. Buying local, fresh produce has never been so easy. The Lardie family has been blessed with a fresh start, and we hope to be a part of your food revolution.
